Description
Towering 82 feet above, Skogafoss marks the dramatic beginning to Iceland's Fimmvorduhals trail. There is a legend that Thrasi Thorolfsson, the first viking settler in the area, buried a treasure behind this giant waterfall. Unfortunately, I was not to be the one to find it before setting off on my hike. The Fimmvorduhals trail is a nearly 20 mile trail crosses between Eyjafjallajokull and Myrdalsjokull glaciers and directly over the craters of the infamous 2010 Eyjafjallajokull eruption.
