Description
Here lies the haunting wreckage of a US Navy DC-3 that ran out of fuel and was forced to crash land on the black sands of the Solheimasandur in south Iceland. The year was 1973, and all of the crew are said to have survived, but the wreckage remains in this desolate glacial floodplain to this day.
